The Blues Animals![]() The Blues Animals duo of Chris Smart on acoustic guitar and vocals, Peter Archer playing harmonica and backing vocals have appeared at The Marchwood Blues Picnic and have a regular gig in Tauranga at No.1 The Strand, which is the best venue in town. Ebony & Ivory![]() Ebony and Ivory are a covers band from Tauranga. The members of the band are Marc Joseph, Tarquin Keys and Jason Crawford. Ebony and Ivory started out in 2006 and have honed their set of music to include rock, funk, r & b, late 90's hip-hop and country... when the mood is right for a hoe-down! Fisher Kings DuoCraig and Jamie have been playing music together for 5 years, with a extensive repertoire ranging from 70s to todays music. They cater for all ages and musical styles with an easy listening blend of music. Jamie Fisher is a well seasoned guitar player, and backing vocalist who has played in many bands in the last 15 years. He enjoys playing duo as there is just you and the audience. The Flaming Mudcats![]() The Flaming Mudcats are a new Auckland-based rootsy blues band. This four piece band swings, playing those great grooves along with burning harp and smoking guitar lines. Great Lake Big Band![]() The Great Lake Big Band have been established in Taupo for over 20 years. The band have a strong rhythm section and a brass section of around 15 musicians, with some truly outstanding soloists. The Big Band have experience of playing at any type of event from Jazz Festivals to Tea Dances. Having played at Christmas in the park for the past two years and also regulars at a variety of events in Taupo, The Great Lake Big Band will be getting us all in the Christmas spirit by playing Christmas Carols. |
Harley CruzFormed in the early 90s by Ian Hunia (Drums/Vocals) the band has been in and around the traps through the Bay of Plenty occasionally venturing as far North as Auckland and Palmerston North in the south. Todays lineup includes the experienced Richard Anaru (Guitar/Vocals) from the cult Rotorua band Cairo and John Natana (Bass/Vocals) who hails from the birthplace of Harley Cruz, Kawerau. The Jukes![]() In just a few short years, The Jukes have garnered a reputation as a first class band. Their repertoire is filled with vintage blues tunes and good blues never really go out of style. The Jukes play the music well, have a deep sense of tradition for what they do and play the kind of raw, vibrant blues that harks back to the golden era of Chicago in the 50's and 60's. Lightning For Hire![]() A dazzling stage performance with machines capable of producing upwards of 4 million volts. They have performed various shows through out New Zealand and Australia, ranging from TV special effects, music festivals and corporate events. The Tesla coil in the Taupo show reaches around 2 million volts, and can produce 2 meter long lightning bolts from the tips of our fingers! Stand back and enjoy the show! |
Sharmin![]() The Bays Hottest Covers Band, Sharmin has been together for nearly 5 years now, wowing crowds with not only their stunning musical talent and musical arrangement but their tight harmonies. Sharmin achieve a great level of sound variation by having all four members either singing lead vocals or harmonies, bringing a multi sound to their ever popular band. Sharmin has performed live to audiences of up to 15,000 and in this time captivated and held a large following. Sons of Beaches![]() Louie Hawkins from Sons of Beaches will be doing a full on rocking duo. He has a wicked voice and certainly can wind the crowd up. Sons of Beaches are quite well know and opened for "Dragon" and "The Angels" and was a headline act in 2007 at the Blues Brews and BBQ's performing to around 17,000 people. Tangible Titans![]() The Tangible Titans (Kelsi Morris-Bullot - 18 and Bridget Martin - 18) are a new age acoustic duo from Katikati. Both currently studying at Canterbury University in Christchurch; Bridget to be a PE teacher and Kelsi a Bachelor of Science majoring in biological sciences. Kelsi plays the ukulele in the band and sings co-lead vocals, and occasionally plays as guest percussionist. Bridget plays the guitar and also sings co-lead vocals.
