Alana Milson

Jazz pianist / saxophonist and flute player. Alana began learning classical piano at the age of 5, however through the years of many lessons and lengthy practice sessions, a new taste and appreciation for Jazz became apparent. Alana has been captivating audiences with her unique style for a great number of years and at the age now of 25 she has certainly performed and supported some fantastic acts.

Alzarae

Alzarae translated into English means to raise or to lift up and thats exactly what these four guys do to your spirits with their renditions of well known classics from Andrea Bocelli, remakes by Il Divo, Michael Buble, Brat Pack jazz & swing and there own modern twists on great songs. With tight harmonies and big voices these guys have been described as New Zealands answer to some well known international acts. This is one act you wont want to miss. These guys always deliver a night to remember.

The Bang Gang

With over a decade of experience the Bang Gang Fireworks Team have amassed a wealth of knowledge when it comes to wowing people with pyrotechnic displays. They have been our partner in this area since we began and have consistently produced dazzling displays always with a few new tricks from the last. The display is launched from a site allowing concert goers the best view in town.

Big Sky

Featuring Martin Winch and Bruce Kerr. Big Sky is a Nylon String Guitar Duo playing quieter pieces of known and original songs. Martin is NZs probably best known and most respected guitar player and Bruce has been playing professionally in Australasia for many years.

Blackout Crew & Andre Harris

Andre Harris has become a name synonymous with energetic, groundbreaking live performance. He has been Beatboxing for 4 years, and has performed in schools, competitions and festivals throughout New Zealand. At the age of 19, Andre is already taking the Vocal Percussion world by storm. He brings his unique, powerful performance to all people, performing in venues from primary schools to stadiums. Not restricted by genres, Andre fuses elements of Hip Hop, Dub, and Drum & Bass for your listening pleasure. A pioneer in his art form, Andre uses a Loopstation to bring multi-layer sound-scapes from his face to yours.

Blarney Band

A terrific three piece band music to suit any taste, from Irish, Scottish and shadows instrumentals to country, rock and roll, 60s and 70s dance music and of course a great sense of humor thrown in for good luck.

The Blues Animals

The Blues Animals duo of Chris Smart on acoustic guitar and vocals, Peter Archer playing harmonica and backing vocals have appeared at The Marchwood Blues Picnic and have a regular gig in Tauranga at No.1 The Strand, which is the best venue in town. They play a good variety of covers, such as Van Morrison, Jonny Cash, Keb Mo, Muddy Waters, Neil Young, Sonny Terry & Brownie Mcghee,and Eric Clapton to mention a few.

DRC & FREY

Combining vocal, guitar and soul with a cool up beat rhythm of the Bongo played by the Soul master of Beat - Jeffrey. His lyrics contain depth that most can relate easily to their own personal experiences. With little influence in the style he plays rhythm guitar, combined with a soulful depth of vocal that reaches back deep into his roots in Maoridom, and his unique appearance, Darcy will bring an experience that reaches way past your expectations.

Dylan Elise

Dylan has performed to over 430 schools in New Zealand over the last 3 years with his Motivational Drumming Show, a solo act which serves to inspire kids of all ages to follow their dreams. He was a featured artist at the National Tauranga Jazz Festival in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and has worked in the recording studio with top kiwi band Nesian Mystik. Ebony & Ivory

Ebony and Ivory are a covers band from Tauranga. The members of the band are Marc Joseph, Tarquin Keys and Jason Crawford. Ebony and Ivory started out in 2006 and have honed their set of music to include rock, funk, r & b, late 90's hip-hop and country... when the mood is right for a hoe-down! Their unique style of blending songs has often been imitated but they stand alone in their ability to deliver a high-energy, musically entertaining show. With their three-part harmonies and percussive acoustic sound boosted by solid yet adventurous drums and a groove-driven bass, Ebony and Ivory guarantee to have the oldest person dancing and the youngest person singing!

Fisher Kings Duo

Craig and Jamie have been playing music together for 5 years, with a extensive repertoire ranging from 70s to todays music. They cater for all ages and musical styles with an easy listening blend of music. Jamie Fisher is a well seasoned guitar player, and backing vocalist who has played in many bands in the last 15 years. He enjoys playing duo as there is just you and the audience. Craig Thomas is singer songwriter, who also plays guitar and captures everyones attention with his voice and song choice.

The Flaming Mudcats

The Flaming Mudcats are a new Auckland-based rootsy blues band. This four piece band swings, playing those great grooves along with burning harp and smoking guitar lines. Influenced by the likes of Little Walter, Johnny Guitar Watson, Magic Sam and Kim Wilson, the boys have compiled an exciting set list.Out of a rehearsal in 2009, a gathering of four players with a common drive to play this brand of blues, resulted in the formation of The Flaming Mudcats.

Great Lake Big Band

The Great Lake Big Band have been established in Taupo for over 20 years. The band have a strong rhythm section and a brass section of around 15 musicians, with some truly outstanding soloists. The Big Band have experience of playing at any type of event from Jazz Festivals to Tea Dances. Having played at Christmas in the park for the past two years and also regulars at a variety of events in Taupo, The Great Lake Big Band will be getting us all in the Christmas spirit by playing Christmas Carols.

Harley Cruz

Formed in the early 90s by Ian Hunia (Drums/Vocals) the band has been in and around the traps through the Bay of Plenty occasionally venturing as far North as Auckland and Palmerston North in the south. Todays lineup includes the experienced Richard Anaru (Guitar/Vocals) from the cult Rotorua band Cairo and John Natana (Bass/Vocals) who hails from the birthplace of Harley Cruz, Kawerau. They join Ian to give you a special brand of earthy Reggae n' Rock flavors to their selection of material and, with their outstanding vocal prowess, they are sure to impress you. Relax and enjoy.

ISIS (Delane Trio)

Introducing the sweet soul sound of ISIS. All-girl vocal trio, made up of three prestigious singers from the Bay of Plenty. Formed in 2002, these girls have entertained as genre specialists throughout NZ and abroad. Each now in their own bands they still make time to re-form their expertise and fine blends of harmonies with clever arrangements from soul classics to today. These fun-loving girls sing with heart and soul and offer attractive visuals to please the eye and blow the roof off any venue.

The Jukes

In just a few short years, The Jukes have garnered a reputation as a first class band. Their repertoire is filled with vintage blues tunes and good blues never really go out of style. The Jukes play the music well, have a deep sense of tradition for what they do and play the kind of raw, vibrant blues that harks back to the golden era of Chicago in the 50's and 60's. Household names like Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Sonny Boy Williamson and Elmore James sit alongside some of the new names on the scene like Nick Moss, Jimmy Burns and Willie Kent in The Jukes set list. At every gig they deliver, as the band locks in to those classic grooves with some rock solid old school ensemble playing, and each time enhance their reputation as a live outfit.

Kalaedosonic & Eipic

Two local bands who have quite a following. Having played together for the past two years, these bands both played during the 2009 Youth Festival these bands are something to watch out for. Playing a variety of genre from Oasis, Red Hot Chilli Peppers to Robbie Williams there will be something to interest everyone.

Lance Kiwi

Music has been Lance's passion for over 35yrs. The highlight of Lance's music career has definitely been working along side and with his best mate Craig Busch, The Lion Man. On their North Island / South Island tour with Lions and Tigers, Lance had the pleasure and excitement of being the MC for the shows and entertaining the crowds. Singing, while holding and playing with beautiful white lion and tiger cubs!

Lightning For Hire

A dazzling stage performance with machines capable of producing upwards of 4 million volts. They have performed various shows through out New Zealand and Australia, ranging from TV special effects, music festivals and corporate events. The Tesla coil in the Taupo show reaches around 2 million volts, and can produce 2 meter long lightning bolts from the tips of our fingers! Stand back and enjoy the show!

Sharmin

The Bays Hottest Covers Band, Sharmin has been together for nearly 5 years now, wowing crowds with not only their stunning musical talent and musical arrangement but their tight harmonies. Sharmin achieve a great level of sound variation by having all four members either singing lead vocals or harmonies, bringing a multi sound to their ever popular band. Sharmin has performed live to audiences of up to 15,000 and in this time captivated and held a large following. If you like music ranging from "The Eagles" right through to "Living Colour" , "Pearl Jam" and "Metallica" then you will love the solid performance of this band, all with a little twist!

She Jus Greedy

She Jus Greedy is a combination of many different musical styles; rock, blues, funk, soul and reggae. They are prolific writers and this melting pot of styles can be heard in their music, each member brings weight and character to each song the result being something special and unique, they have been described as refreshing which is indeed high praise in todays musical climate. Prepare yourself for good music.

Sons of Beaches

Louie Hawkins from Sons of Beaches will be doing a full on rocking duo. He has a wicked voice and certainly can wind the crowd up. Sons of Beaches are quite well know and opened for "Dragon" and "The Angels" and was a headline act in 2007 at the Blues Brews and BBQ's performing to around 17,000 people. Tangible Titans

The Tangible Titans (Kelsi Morris-Bullot - 18 and Bridget Martin - 18) are a new age acoustic duo from Katikati. Both currently studying at Canterbury University in Christchurch; Bridget to be a PE teacher and Kelsi a Bachelor of Science majoring in biological sciences. Kelsi plays the ukulele in the band and sings co-lead vocals, and occasionally plays as guest percussionist. Bridget plays the guitar and also sings co-lead vocals. Bridget has been playing the guitar for 8 years and Kelsi the ukulele for nearly 2. Visit their website for more information.

Triple J consists of Joel Shadbolt - Guitar/Vocals, Jeremy Harker - Bass Guitar/Vocals and Jason Crawford - Drums/Vocals Individual highlights include playing in L.A. with top session musicians, supporting Dragon and The Angels, playing New Years Eve in Cathedral Square to around 30,000 people and touring with Luke Thompson.As a band they bring a wealth of experience, energy and fun. We also recently played at the Tauranga National Jazz Festival with a full Horn section from the New Zealand school of music which wowed audiences.
